Sustainable Waste Management
The purpose of this policy is for Aussie Sweeping to put in place procedures to improve our waste management. Aussie Sweeping commits to managing its waste in a sustainable, responsible manner and following local council legislation.
Details
Aussie Sweeping avoids excessive or unnecessary waste by:
- Reusing items that can be reused or recycled
- Considering the amount of packaging at the point of purchasing
- As per our Environmental Management policy, Aussie Sweeping will, wherever possible, purchase the most sustainable products / use the most environmentally friendly transport for freight
Waste can include:
- Electricity or power being used unnecessarily
- Packaging and disposable products
- Avoidable use of water
- Disposal of chemical waste
Scope
Aussie Sweeping seeks to reduce & manage waste by:
- Recycling waste that is suitable to be recycled
- Disposing of our waste following Council guidelines
- Having a recycling bin, including label detailing products suitable for recycling
- Turning off equipment when not in use
- Conserving water
- Disposing of dangerous goods or chemicals in line with current legislation
